About meI spent 14 years in a Franciscan Order and now married for over 27 to Margaret, another cleric. I am interested in American history, Theology, Physics, Linguistics and just about everything except war, politics, cowboys, novels and the like.

About my libraryOur Library at Kensington House is the result of books I have collected as a cleric since 1981, my wife as a graduate student in American Material Culture and I again returning to school for History, and her returning to school in preparation for Holy Orders and finally as a cleric herself and those we have collected since that time.
What you will not see is the novel, westerns, war, politics (as such).

Joel;

I noticed in your library - What Happens at Mass by Jeremy Driscoll. I am about to being an Adult Education Class at my parish were I will lead the participants through the Mass. Would you recommend this book as a good resource?

Thanks,
Bob
Hello! Sorry I've taken so long to respond to your questions about my interest in Charles Williams. I've been very interested in the Inklings for many years and have finally read all of his novels. I still need to add three (I think) to my library. I need to read A Descent into Hell again to get current; I last read that in the mid-80s.

I'm impressed with how he combines the spiritual and the fantastic without boundaries. T.S. Eliot describes it well in the foreword to All Hallow's Eve. If you don't have it, I'll provide the quotes if you like.

Spong has a very interesting take on matters of Faith and Doctrine. I don't go as far as he does, I think. I'm a very Episcopal-friendly liberal Methodist!
