About meMy whole life has been one long ultraviolent hyperkinetic nightmare. But yes, I am a biostatistician. I do research in neuroimaging and do what little I can to ensure the safety and efficacy of our nation's therapeutic biological agents.

About my libraryMy nonfiction collection more or less traces the tortuous path of my academic interests from high school to now: classics -> philosophy -> philosophy of mathematics -> mathematics -> biostatistics, with a side order of cognitive science.

My taste in fiction is biased toward humor and general cleverness. As is my taste in philosophy, for that matter. As would be my taste in statistics, I guess, but... well, you know. Oh, and my twelve year old self is quite impressed that 56 volumes of Moorcock constitute only the 22nd largest collection of such on LT.

My rating system is based primarily on free association.

Noticed you liked Light in August, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter)in case you'd like to read more about the novel before you commit:
