About meI'm a homeschooling mother of five who range in age from 0 years to 20 years. We educate our children using a mix of the principles of Charlotte Mason and Dr. Raymond & Dorothy Moore. We generally use the curriculum of AmblesideOnline.org, Beautiful Feet Books, Cornerstone Curriculum and Five in a Row. I'm definitely a dabbler...jack of all trades, master of none. Some of my interests are cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing stuffed animals, embroidery, playing the penny whistle and saxophone, hiking and, of course, reading.

About my libraryMost of my books are books that we use to educate our children. Of the books that I own that aren't school/child related, the majority are some type of nonfiction, such as cookbooks, DIY, crafting, parenting, Christian living, etc. I don't purchase many novels because I can't stand to read a book twice...where's the suspence in that?...and don't like to have things lying around my home that are of no use. The only exception to that is my love of very old books; I like to collect old classic, and not so classic literature. I get all tingly knowing that the book I'm holding in my hands was held by someone else a hundred or more years ago.
