About meI am a retired CPA, grew up on a ranch in Colorado, as a child lived for a while in Tucson, AZ, and as an adult lived in Denver, CO and later, with my husband, on Alasa Farms on Sodus Bay, NY. Alasa Farms was the site of the Sodus Shaker Community in the 1800s.

Currently, I am living the dream of living on South Padre Island, TX, and owning a bookstore. Paragraphs On Padre Boulevard opened in March 2009 and the really special part is my residence is located in the rear of the shop, satisfying a lifetime desire to "live in a bookstore or library".

My favorite things: Books, old books, reading, writing, flower and herb gardens, watercolors, my dogs, Shaker folk art, needlepoint, antiques, ephemera, and progressive politics, for a start.

About my libraryMy listings here are books which I actually own and since I very rarely let loose of any book which I come in contact with, my library will reflect a lifetime of reading and the ways my taste has changed.

This will change somewhat and I have not really decided how best to incorporate the opening of the store with the listing of my personal library - since, much to my chagrin, most of my library has been moved into the store and will be listed as inventory.

I think I see shifting the focus of my LibraryThing listings to more of a books read rather than owned record.
