About meI'm the author of [Acts of the Apostles], [Cheap Complex Devices] and [The Pains], which are all available for free download from my site wetmachine.com. I live on the island of Martha's Vineyard, where I'm a freelance writer, volunteer firefighter, food pantry worker, bicyclist, husband, father, etc. I've spent nearly 30 years in and around the computer industry, with time out for stints as truck driver, construction worker, and all-around working class hero.

About my libraryMy wife and I used to own a children's bookstore, so we still have a ton of children's books around, even though our youngest child is 21. I have umpteen jillion other books that I've picked up here and there. I like science, 20th century American and English literary fiction, 19th century Russian fiction, SF, philosophy, mathematics, computer science.
