About meHello everyone! I am a children's librarian at a public library where I have worked for almost 9 years. I graduated from Florida State University (Go 'Noles!) with my Masters of Science in Library & Information Studies.

I read ALL kinds of books. The most common types of books for me to read are picture books & juvenile fiction (all in a day's work!) in addition to YA fiction, Adult fiction, and all types of non-fiction. I read quite a bit of Chick Lit also.

About my libraryBooks in my library are either tagged "tbr" for "to be read" or "read" which means I have already read it.

I have just added "Follow that bear if you dare", Claire Freedman to my catalogue and was really interested to read your review of it- in my edition (UK) the 'sidekick' is called PODGY Rabbit !!
Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Hi Julie,

My name is Dawn and I also work in a library - up here in Canada.

I am a librarian and the host of Toronto Public Library’s online book club: Book Buzz, and a fellow LibraryThing member.

This month we are reading Inside, by Kenneth J Harvey I noticed that you include Inside in your library and I’d just like to invite you to visit us and share your thoughts about Harvey’s book. It’s a friendly easy-going book club with over 500 members and we are always looking for new points of view.

If you are interested, visit us at http://bookbuzz.torontopubliclibrary.ca .

Thank-you for your time,
Dawn

Hi Julie! Thanks for being my LibraryThing friend. It's nice to meet you. You have some interesting-looking books in your library! It must be such fun to work in a library.
