I have uploaded a cover of The Commodores by Leonard F. Guttridge and Jay D. Smith. This is from the original 1969 Harper & Row hardcover edition.
Vis-a-vis your inquiry about the prosepects for people with a liberal arts backfround, perhaps if I had been more motivated after I finished my MS in the late '80s I could have gotten a PhD and moved into academia in the early '90s (several of my classmates did), but I chose not to. That I now work at the National Archives is more a tribute to my drinking with the right people at the right time, and not to my academic background.
FYI
I have uploaded a cover for The Hardest Victory: RAF Bomber Command in the Second World War by Denis Richards. This is from the 1994 W. W. Norton hardcover edition.
Thanks for the friendship!
I've added a few more books under my RAIDER tag, take a look when you're bored. Cheers A
Thanks for the Super Profile covers.
I am delighted to be your friend. Looking at the books we share I appreciate your choices. I will be looking at your reviews. I am adding reviews to my site, all based on comments made to myself immediately after reading the book
OK, a shared interest in the Winter War could be the start of a beautiful friendship. I liked your review of Condon's book.

Ever read Shrike58's reviews. He also writes interesting pieces.
Having the B-314 in common now suffices for friendship? :)
and of course it's raining in Germany. Too bad the track doesn't have much personality. Bring back the northern loop! So what if it would cost billions to bring up to code.. :)
For a moment, I thought you had been loading one of my shelves when I saw all those Osprey Air Combats!
Another burst!
Hi, thanks for leaving a comment. A very nice collection you have there. If you like Holmes, Keegan and NAMRodger you might also enjoy Adrian Goldsworthy's books on roman military history. I have just read Caesar, The Punic Wars and Roman Warfare and they are very good.
Believe me, I understand. The need for absolute fidelity to the original work really starts to fade after the first two thousand entries!
Suddenly a burst of entry. Interesting material.
Hello.
My apologies for the delayed response from your Sept comment, I’ve been working on a major picture-scanning project for the last 6 months.

You commented about our shared book authors… we also share Alistair MacLean.

Just goes to show we both have good taste in what we read… ha ha.

I will be adding more to my lists in the near future, we'll see what others come to light.
You've no doubt noticed that Renault is now in trouble with the FIA and Ross Brawn is going to Honda as team principal. If not, you do now.
Thank you for the covers.
I'd feel a bit better about it if it wasn't for Mad Max's well-known antipathy for Ron Dennis. Also, Jean Todt needs to stuff a sock in it, as he's just mostly ticked that he got caught cheating early in the year. It's also said that the wheels are being greased for Alonso to leave McLaren, though who apart from Renault would want him this close to blackmailing his current team I can't imagine, especially since it's not clear to me that Renault is prepared to pay the freight; maybe Toyota.
Any opinion on the McLaren mess?
We have much in common except for auto racing unless you count two books on the Beetle and classic cars which I'm sure you don't.
It's odd for me to match someone in fiction solely on the Hornblower books with nary any science fiction to be seen. SF not of interest?
I see you also have Great War in Africa, I've always been interested in Lettow Vorbeck etc, please see check my AFRICA tag for some possible titles of interest....
