- About My Library
- My library is filled with books related to the Algonquin Round Table and New York City history. These are books by and about the Round Table members. Beyond Dorothy Parker, Alexander Woollcott, and Robert Benchley, I am referring to the 22 others who were at the table. I have been tracking down obscure books by Franklin P. Adams, Margaret Leech, John V.A. Weaver, and Laurence Stallings, to name a few. At the same time, I will read any book about the history of New York City.
Here is my book hunting tip: don't miss the Shelter Island (NY) Public Library used book sale. It runs Saturday mornings beginning the Saturday after Independence Day, through September. - About Me
- I wrote A Journey into Dorothy Parker's New York (which was published by Roaring Forties Press, Dec. 1, 2005). It was the first book in the ArtPlace series for them. I am currenly writing the followup, A Journey into the Algonquin Round Table's New York which should be out in late 2007 or sometime in 2008.
I am a freelance writer and Web producer. In my spare time I run the Dorothy Parker Society, which I started in 1999, and I lead walking tours at the Algonquin Hotel of locales associated with the Vicious Circle.
My favorite book in the world is Here is New York by E.B. White. - Location
