About meLife-long reader! I love pets and gardening, handwork such as embroidery and quilting. A science geek, I work and teach in a laboratory. I like to read more than one book at a time, and usually have at least three books I am reading at once, depending on my mood. Of course I have a 2-b-read pile by my bed and going into Barnes and Noble can be dangerous to my budget!

About my libraryI like to collect cook books and quilting books. Favorite genres to read are history, historical fiction,sci-fi/fantasy, science topics, books about Italy or Italian subjects and the classics. I recently joined the 50 book challenge group. Our individual goals are to read 50 books (of our own choosing)in a year. I made my list and will post reviews as I go. I would love to talk books with you! Here is my 50 Book Challenge list, you can also follow on the group thread my first post is entitled "Challenge!"

Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:
