About my libraryThis account is to catalogue all of my metaphysical/esoteric/new-age/divinatory books. Maybe I'll add some of my fiction here, too. (I keep track of the rest of my reading elsewhere.)

I've been interested in astrology since the age of 12, and tarot since high school or so (I'm in my early-40's now). I dabble in other things, but always come back to those. I'm currently exploring regular cartomancy, and want to learn geomancy, too. Despite my interest in these things, I'm actually pretty analytical, scientifically minded, and not very woo-woo!

My degree is in psychology, so psychological astrology was what drew me in initially. I still enjoy it for its symbolism of the facets of the human psyche, and for how its ideas are useful for understanding themes in people's lives. As for how accurately one can delineate a chart using modern techniques, I've always been a little disappointed. For this reason, I've been drawn lately to studying classical, or traditional, techniques within astrology. I like the potential for coming up with something concrete, for either being objectively right or wrong. Exploring these new areas has been fun.

As for fiction, I read all genres without shame, from literary fiction, to thrillers, to SF, to YA. I'm a convert to the Kindle and I love it, even more than I thought I would. I like to read several books at once, some fiction, some non-fiction, so it's perfect for me. I still adore physical books, and feel a little guilty about neglecting them, though. I try to balance it out and show my affection for them, too.
