About me I work full time in retail and also enjoy photography. I subscribe to way too many magazines and like movies. On occasion, I'm known to go to the gym. I live outside of Buffalo, NY with my two cats, Zoe and Anderson Cooper.

About my library I absolutely love books. I can't even describe to you what it is like for me to go into a bookstore, especially a used bookstore. Fantastic!

From a young age, I was encouraged to enjoy reading and I often was seen with a book no matter where I was going. I was scandalized by Stephen King's It in 7th grade, but I was ready to read more mature material, so I'd just grab whatever mom was finished reading.

I need more shelf space but that won't prevent me from getting more books. I get many of my books used, but I do buy new books on a fairly regular basis.

People often give me book recommendations and I'll definitely consider them, but it may take me years to read the book you recommended. I have to feel the book before I read it. If it doesn't hit me right when I start to read it, I'll go to something else. I often will be reading anywhere between 3-5 books at the same time.

My favorite authors include John Irving, Barbara Kingsolver, Margaret Atwood and Joyce Carol Oates. I enjoy Simon Winchester and Mary Roach as well.

Hello,
We share 91 books but more importantly, we share the same reaction to The Guardians - rare is the book I can't finish, but this one just got on my nerves. I share your high ratings for A Prayer for Owen Meany, my favorite book and author, and Troost's Sex Lives of the Cannibals, the funniest book I have ever read! Here's to the next great book.... Mel
We share 42 books in our Libraries! Burroughs, Chabon, Irving, Joyce Carol Oates, and Roth are some of my favorite authors. My book club has a site you might enjoy. http://www.keneast.info/bookclub/newbook You can see other books I have read, read reviews, and see where we go to dinner in the Buffalo and surrounding area! I enjoy Brodo's on Elmwood. I have been in the Book Club since December 2003. I received an email response from Augusten Burroughs when I contacted him after reading Running With Scissors! Keep reading! Any suggestions not on my list you enjoyed? I really enjoyed A Confederacy of Dunces and The Devil in the White City. Jeff
Just saying hello.

Startled to find not only that we share a lot of books -- which is not that unusual -- but that most of the ones we share are ones I'd consider the most important in my library.
