About meI'm a recent college grad with a bachelor's in marketing communications and English. In addition to reading I really throw myself into music, video games, movies. . . generally most media and pop culture.

About my libraryA lot of sci-fi and/or fantasy. A lot of YA. But I read a variety when I think about it.... just sort of gravitate to the former.

It was fun meeting you today! :)
thanks for the welcome!
I'll check it out :) Still have to figure out how to use this!
Katie,

I'm not officially "done" with it, but on page 305 of 340 (e-book format, I think the paperback is in the 400s - the difference being the White Space at the end of chapters. The paperback the chapters all start on a new page, the ebook doesn't, so it's not like I have an "abridged" version), basically the climax.

Anyway, I think the second is slightly worse than the first, and the best analogy to give is that of Gremlins. In the first one, it was all about Gizmo, a single Gremlin. The first book is about a single infected person (yeah, a brief mention of a few others, but it's all about Perry). The second one is like Gremlins 2: The New Batch. It's more chaotic, and deals with chaos throughout the state of Michigan.
Katie,

I see that you had read "Infected" by Scott Sigler. Happens to be the last book I've read. I'm currently reading the sequel, "Contagious". Have you considered reading that one as well? Seems to be a little more "all over the place" compared to "Infected", but about 60% of the way thru, and anoter weird thing happens every few pages.
Katie,

FYI I'm in Maryland MD not Massachusetts, MA for the readathon.

and I'm starting early! Where do I post?

I saw you have read the Percy Jackson series, one of my personal favorites!! We would love to hear your opinion on the books if you join in our "Percy Jackson debate" topic!!
That's fantastic!
I am so glad that you responded as you did on the TPBM thread.

You're welcome. I know a couple more old ones, but I don't know how print an integral sign and a few other things.
When the snake couple got married, they wanted to have a family right away. Unfortunately, no matter how hard they tried, Mrs. Snake didn't get pregnant and was getting very depressed.

Mr. Snake hated to see his wife so upset and decided he'd try to cheer her up a little. She'd been wanting some new furniture, so he decided to make her a new table. He found a medium-sized tree limb and cut out a nice round section of it. He then attached some smaller limbs to it for the legs. He sanded and sanded and sanded until he got all the snags and bumps out of it. Then he varnished it with three coats of varnish until it shone.

He was very proud of his work. He pulled the new table into their den and said, "Look, honey! I made this for you."

Mrs. Snake did look a little happier and proceeded to "Ooh" and "Aah" over it. She set it that very night with her good china, and they had a very nice meal.

He began working on some new furniture in his spare time.

One evening after an extra special meal set on the new table, Mrs. Snake sidled up to Mr. Snake and whispered in his ear, "Guess what, my love. We're going to have little snakes before long."

Mr. Snake whooped with joy and danced a little jig!

Do you know what this proves? Are you ready for it? Okay, here goes!

Even adders can multiply if they have a log table. ::snerk::
Hi there,

Just a quick note to say that we got the ARC of 20 Years Later that you won in the April LibraryThing Early Reviewers program into the mail this week so, if you haven't received it already, you should be doing so in the next couple of days.

Thanks,

You're mucho welcome! :) Hope you have fun with it.
Hi Katie! :)

Ah yes, the pain in the butt of trying to figure out HOW to add music and movies. It's hidden very well, but I stumbled across a couple how-to pages on LT. For music: http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/Cataloging_Sound_Recordings . For movies: http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/Cataloging_DVDs .

If you were curious, this is what I normally do to add CDs/DVDs:

1) Click on the "Add books" tab near the top of the page
2) Type in the title and/or artist name/actor, etc. in the search book
3) Select a bookstore/library source in the "Search where?" list (like MINERVA (Maine), Harris County Public Library, ILCSO (Illinois Libraries), or ACCESS Pennsylvania--I get the most results from ACCESS Penn.)
4) Then click on one of the titles provided

If I don't get the result I'm looking for, there's always the "Add manually" option, which is located a little lower on the page. I've had to use that several times, especially for more obscure or out-of-date stuff.

I hope that made sense. :) I'm really bad at writing how-to's. Anywho, I hope you have a blast adding stuff. I love using LT to keep all my media together.

Laters,
Sara
Thanks for letting me know! I've added the thread to the 11 in 11 group page.
Thanks for the soccer info. At this stage, every little bit helps! It is her dream to play at UNC, although she is probably not quite to that standard. We'll see.
thanks,
Janet
Thanks for your reply on the Hindi and
Romanian languages. I know little Romanian and
no Hindi, so I canʻt tell the meaning either.

I think Romanian crossed my mind for "Am Crezut"
but I passed over it/
This is just curiosity, but I wondered:

In what language are 2 of your titles

in the "Music. . ." thread:

"Ye Doorian" and "Am Crezut. . ."?

And what do they mean?

(I havenʻt heard of them before,

but then Iʻve heard of very few

of the songs that are being cited.)
Hi Katie,

Thanks for the comment on the Trigun movie. Sorry for the delayed response but I've been offline for the last week. Disk crash on my home pc and was off work for the week as well so no access to the net.

Anyway, that's good news and thanks for the heads up. If I hear anything new while trying to catch up I'll let you know.

Dave.

this is ianea (from the off topic site) i thought of answering back there but i prefered that way. The music you suggested me is really intersting. You see i like rap among with other stuff. Yet checking your profil and the commet you made about three days grace made me curious about the way your life is .Don't get upset or sth , i am definately not judging to be honest i like the music you here , the books you read and whatever. But i feel i really want to know what feeling does each song of them bring to you.

Anyway whatever you want i 'll be swh around here .
I am waiting for more music suggestions and movies as well
Corn cob pipe smoking is nothing but class. This sounds like a highly respectable sport.
Hey

Thanks for the add. I'm really into childrens'/YA fiction as well. Peter Pan syndrome anyone? Ah well. They're wonderful. I'm not hugely into fantasy, but probably could be. I've just not explored the genre a lot.

Also. I didn't realize they had kickball leagues. That's spectacular.
Hi, you won my Librarything Giveaway for [24 Bones] and I was wondering if you were interested in the Author Chat.

If so, you can check it out here: http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.php?topic=75774

I hope you'll join me!

Hi Katie!

I finished my first six degrees of separation. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I'm in for another one. I'm not sure why it didn't catch on with others, but I think it's fun! At least it doesn't involve reading even *more* books. :)

Madeline
Thanks, for accepting, good luck with the hunger games it was good, I see you have the host too I really like that one. good luck with your challenges.
You asked about dark humor - my very favorite is Augusten Burroughs, particularly Raw and Running with Scissors. Most of his books are non-fiction, memoir books. Very black and biting, both sad and hysterically funny at the same time.
