How nice that you'll be visiting. Oceanside has a nice new B&N in a center with a LOT of restaurants, so it's very handy.

However, Oceanside and Carlsbad are contiguous. In Carlsbad there's a shopping area called The Forum with a Borders, about two blocks away in Encinitas is (my favorite) B&N. Also, 1/2 mile away is the Quail Botanical Gardens, which is very nice. Also, in "the village" in old Carlsbad there are several used bookstores. I can recommend Farenheit 451 (spelling intentional) which has an excellent selection of books, though the prices are not cheap.

Of course, both cities have beaches to visit (Carlsbad has two--with great walking paths above).

If you need more info, let me know.

The green checkmark is automatic on touchstones when you use a touchstone for a book in your own library. so those checkmarks mean the book is also in my library. Touchstones without the checkmarks are ones either I or someone else have referred to which are not in my library.
It takes awhile to get up to speed with LT. I guess I had about 3 or 4 months of work just to get my books in a catalog. Then another couple of months to look around. But you have gotten to just the right group. The 75'ers are easily the most diverse and interesting, in my opinion, of all the groups. You'll find great reviews and lively discussion from a very friendly group of folks.
Welcome to LT and the 75'ers!!! We're looking forward to you jumping in.
