About meMy husband and I are avid readers and biblioholics; our young son Sam and daughter Lucy are following in our bookwormy footsteps.

About my libraryIt's an eclectic collection that's growing at a frightening rate.

Katy -- Travel Light arrived today. Thank you SO much -- I enjoyed your tidbit about finding it in a travel section! I love Mitchison and am really looking forward to this -- and a Virago green cover to boot!

Happy belated birthday to you, too!
Honestly, Katy. I don't read more than 2 or 3 Cherryhs a year. I like her in smaller doses! I should go ahead and read *Kif* while I have the book down, but I suspect that I'll put it away and read another in the Foreigner series instead - in a month or 3.
No rush Katy as I have plenty to read.
I picked up 7 books at the library
yesterday and have 3 weeks to get them
back. (all Orange longlisted...yea!~!)
Thank you,
belva
That's amazing. Sometimes the USPS is awesome, and sometimes not so much. Enjoy!
Peggy
Katy, I forgot to come by yesterday to say that the books are in the mail to you. Thank you for taking them!! Hope you enjoy them!!
Oh! Cherryh is in Spokane, not Seattle.
Peggy
Heh - thanks! I hope I come to love Fanny Price as you have when I revisit her.

22 boxes of books lost! That's heartbreaking!
Katy, welcome to the Virago group!!!
I know that you'll find the members as delightful and insightful as I do. I had to come and extend my sympathy for those lost books. I'm sure that other things were ruined too, but --- books, Oh my!
The picture of your reading child is a joy. I'm off to check your reviews and look forward to conversations to come.
Peggy
Hey, thanks for the interesting library add! My condolences to you on the loss of 30 boxes of books... among other things, I am sure! It's great that you've found LT and it's helping you rebuild. You may also want to look at www.bookmooch.com and www.paperbackswap.com — both of which bring me many used books, probably more than my husband would wish! :)

The profile pic is adorable, btw! I like the "trail" of books leading to his current spot. Some kids trail crumbs... others, books! :)
I'm glad to hear from another Sue Barton fan! Do you have any Persephone titles in your collection? I just bought three - read one last week, am reading the second this week, and probably the third one next week. I like their line-up a lot. Do you homeschool?
I haven't read any of Frances Trollope's work yet. They are only in my 'wishlist' collection, except for Domestic Manners of the Americans which is an ebook (and unread). I hope to get around to obtaining/reading them one of these days... :) The Book Depository seems to carry a fair selection of her work.
I can't believe that I'd never heard of I Capture the Castle until a couple of weeks ago given my love for all things Austen. We have a cat named Jane Austen-FYI. Of course if I'd known that she wasn't going to be delicate like Birdie, it would have been more apt to have named her something like tubo or bear. She's huge.

You all kept it Castle a great secret from me. :) It's hard to believe that you never spoke of it back at SJC; although, I guess that's always possible. It's also possible I wasn't listening.
How is the cataloging going?
Are you going to add reviews (where applicable) once you have all your books added? My maid of honor is also on librarything.com Her name is Carlym. Her profile is http://www.librarything.com/profile/carlym I think you might be amused by some of her reviews and her profile pictures are great too.

I like Sam's favorites as a tag. :)
