About meBookaholic.
Admittedly.
Not currently seeking rehabilitation.
Who would want to? Books offer a peace and solitude, a place to run when there is nowhere else to hide. Why would I want to give that up?

About my libraryMy library reflects many areas of personal research and interest. I don't borrow books very often from the library because I usually find I don't want to give them back. I will only keep a book in my library if I find it useful, have written a review for or one that I look forward to reading again....

To browse my library:
All my books are categorized using the Categories tools. Tags are used to tag within the category.

When writing reviews, I don't write them to sound like I came from a column in the New York Times, I write why I did or did not like them. Simple. Serendipity....

Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Bright Star - John Keats

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art-
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature’s patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors;
No-yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever-or else swoon to death.
Thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed Maus, and congrats on reaching your reading goal for the year too!! :)
Glad to know that you enjoy the books! I read them earlier in the year and was amazed by how powerful the story was, and when I saw that you read quite a bit of WWII books, I thought it would be perfect

Happy reading!!
hi. sorry for the almost 1 month late reply. you guessed right, my user name is from ST. they're one of my fav bands.

the rise and fall of the third reich is an excellent book, btw. may i ask what sort of career you're making out of reading that and the other books you listed?
As for Yancey I just finished [Finding God in Unexpected Places] which I highly recommend.

Ana's Story is about a girl who was born with aids and her story of survival, how the population is very high with kids with aids because their parents had it, many of the parents have died and the kids live in orphanages or hope that family will take them in.
I saw the new Nicholas Sparks did come out, it was on the Barnes & Noble website tonight.

I highly recommend Philip Yancey and think you will see his style is not charismatic - he is very practical.

I finised Ana's story by Jenna Bush - what an emotional book.
I checked out your library after receiving your post and found out we hav similiar taste. I just finished reading all of Nicholas Sparks books this past summer. I believe he has a new one coming out real soon.

I think I have read all of Richard Paul Evans books. If I would finish posting all of my books on LT we would share more of the same books.

I noticed you have religious books, may I suggest an author - Philip Yancey. This past year I have started reading his books and they are fabulous. He is pretty deep, but really gets to the point. Guessing from your library I think you would like him.

I am going to the National Book Festival in Washington DC this weekend and am looking forward to it. There will be over 70 authors there. Just type in National Book Festival on the web and it will bring up the web site.

I have rambled on enough.
Sorry it took so long to reply - I loved the book. I highly recommend it. It is mostly a story written in letters, which I didn't think I would like. I was wrong, it was very intesting and fast moving. I loved how a mix of people that are so different from each other was able to form a bond through a book society. I say buy it:)
