About meI live in Dublin. I get most of my reading done on the DART (commuter train) everyday. I have once or twice missed my stop with my nose in a book. I love a good book and want to get recommendations without any spoilers - I like a surprise. I am in the 75 in 2011 and Orange Jan/Jul groups. I have the most beautiful cocker spaniel in the world - Ralphy - he is more of a thinker than a reader.

Are they as long winded as the Moment
Hi Kirsty,

China Garden is the first Liz Berry I read and I enjoyed it. I checked out the book stores and you are right, her stuff does seem to be out of print.
I'll definitely have to move it to the top of my list! Someone in my class last semester raved about it, and I've heard nothing but amazing reviews. Thanks for the recommendation!

Kirsty,

I wanted to check out your library after discovering we both love Angela Carter.

I thought you were possibly exaggerating about owning the world's most beautiful cocker spaniel but I can see you are absolutely correct. That Ralphy is a stunner- simply gorgeous. I can tell he knows he is pretty amazing but he handles it with dignity.

Best,
Enaid

Your cocker is lovely!

On my profile I posted a picture of my own cocker spaniel. I love the breed (this is our second spaniel), they are so friendly and sweet. And those eyes, how can you deny them something?

Ralphy has the most beautiful eyelashes that I have ever seen on a dog! he is sweet looking :)

Happy Reading!

It looks cold!
You're welcome, Kirsty. I doubt that you'll be dull!

Brianah's birthday is coming up soon...maybe I'll send her and Paddington Bear a shipment of marmalade sandwiches and fish & chips.

Cheers,
Darryl
Thanks for your kind words, kirsty. I'd like to say that my cross-stitch was my own design but unfortunately it was from a packaged set. I find it to be very relaxing but my first love is, of course, reading. How's the weather in Dublin this time of year?
I'm not sure that dainty is the word for our Abby, but she is a wonderful girl...silly and wacky but wonderful.
Your Ralphy is very handsome and looks so scholarly working on his books.
Thats a girl! Can't you tell by her girlish figure? lol
I envy you living in Ireland, we hope someday to visit.
