My favorite is Ina Garten probably known as "Barefoot Contessa". I also enjoy some of Martha Stewart's recipes, however some of them are quite complicated. When it comes to my cookie baking, besides the recipes that have been passed down by my grandmothers, I use Mary Engelbreit's cookie book quite a bit. Sometimes I throw a party that is based mainly on appetizers. I have collected these ideas from several cookbooks or cooking shows.

Thank you for the tip on "Lidia's cookbook" that will help me with making my selection. Got a stack of cookbooks out yesterday, thinking of holiday planning already. I like to pick something new every year to go with the same dishes I make every year over the holidays.
