Whimsley reminds us of John Murrell's fun comparison of physicists (simple model with precise numbers)and chemists(complex empirical model with approximations). Whimsley goes on to point out "Economists are to sociologists as physicists are to chemists". It just makes a swell intro to a review of your book in which you apply quantifications to humanitarian motives, pulling in both economics and sociology.
