Hi Karen,

So how are you liking Cold Mountain so far? It's not the most exciting book I've ever read, and it's taking me *ages to get through it, but it's not boring - as I'd believed it would be.

My daughter had this book assigned to her before she started college and only made it through the first page before she gave up. :) I know she would not have liked it so I think she made the right choice. What surprised me, though, was that, although the book had been assigned, no follow-up (e.g. writing assignments about the book) were ever given. Go figure! That's okay. My daughter is now in law school so she's not even dreaming of not doing the assigned reading! :)

Best,

Madeline
Karen, The November Challenges are up early. Do you have a good one to add? : )
Hey Karen. Don't you have a challenge to add this month? I'm totally underwhelmed with the current options and know you would come up with somethting good! : )
hi,Karen.

Stopping by to say that that grandson of yours is a real cutie, but then we grandmothers are always partial, we couldn't be wrong, could we?

I've been reading your threads and just have to ask - what does the number after the book in your list of books read indicate? I've gone back and tried to figure it out, but my tired brain can't do it. Just curious.

Upset? I was thrilled!!!!
WOW, Karen! Thank you for doing all the covers in the rainbow so far. That wouldn't have occurred to me - I was trying to chivvy each individual on one-at-a-time. I think it's really quite handsome!

Hi, Karen. Thanks for visiting my thread! I see that we have an interesting and varied 100 books in common. I'll look forward to tracking you down at 75'ers and to hearing what you think of what you're reading!
Peggy
Thanks for sending your thread. I'll be sure to check it regularly.

Hi Karen

Thanks for posting on my thread. Our 75 challenge group has grown and I cannot find your thread. Would you mind sending it to me?

Karen,
Since you enjoyed reading "The Three Weissmanns of Westport", I'd like to recommend another new novel: "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand" by Helen Simonson. It's her first novel and it's wonderful.
