About meWe love books! We have been accumulating books together since our college days when we both majored in political science and history. You can tell a bit by our collection that history remains an interest area. Other areas of interest include writing, music, art, home and garden and children's literature. We have two children and many children's books. The ones catalogued here are the ones we are likely to keep. Many of the paperback ones that fill their shelves will be passed along.
About my libraryFour years ago we moved from a house that had a room filled with built in book shelves to a house with no book shelves. We have tried to make do with books spread out over many rooms and small shelves with no organization for the last four years and finally decided to break down and move bookshelves to the TOP of the to-do list. We actually felt like not having a library was impacting the way we wanted to live. We could never find books we wanted to reference or read and we felt like we were really missing something. This week we will finish building the bookshelves in our main family room and have already begun the slow task of dragging books from all areas of the house to be catalogued and stacked according to subject. Once they are all catalogued and stacked, we will begin filling the shelves. We are hoping to finish this large task by the end of October.
