About meI am a college history professor. My research interests include antebellum America, slavery, women's history, and western history.

About my libraryAlmost all the books listed on this site are history related...most deal with some aspect of American history, particularly the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. My European history books and so-called "fun" books are not fully cataloged because I rarely get to read them and many are packed away :-(. I need more bookshelves!

P.S. I have many other history books you might enjoy but not all are listed in my library as I'm quite the procrastinator when it comes to listing them in LT.
Hello Kristen, I have a couple books you might enjoy. One is Boone by Robert Morgan and the second is Bullet and Shell by George F. Williams. Williams was a Civil War soldier from the Northeast who enlisted and rose to the rank of Major before he was badly wounded. He finished out the war as a correspondent/reporter. His book is probably listed as fiction since he does not actually use his real name or those of the units he served in but his descriptions of the battles and war are real and factual. I thought it was a very good read. The Boone book is the best I've ever read about him. You really get a good picture of who Boone really was as opposed to what movies portrayed him as and some other books written about him.
Go west young lady, go west. Your manifest destiny. =)
Congratulations on the position in Colorado!

Hi there. Your books kept popping up on my current list so as I was adding your library to my "interestings" I read your profile. You wouldn't, by chance, be the new hire at CSU-P?
Are you doing anything interesting for your dissertation? Have you defended it yet? (Good luck to you.)

I was browsing your books and ended up ordering one and placing another on my wishlist. You have a dangerous library -- at least to my wallet!

Hi! Glad we're friends!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look at them.
