Hi Kristin:
This is Gita. I am so sorry to bother you. I sent my book "In Pursuit of Love, Spirituality and Happiness" to you few days ago. Unfortunately, some books returned back to my address due to the problem with the recipient's address label. Any way I would like to know if the book had reached to you for review. I would really appreciate it if you kindly let me know if you have received it. I am looking forward to your wonderful review because It will be not only great to receive the review but also it will let me know where I stand as a writer-it will reveal the strength of my writing as well and how I can improve my writing. Please post the review in Amazon.com.
As a first time author it will be highly appreciated. I value your opinion.
Thank you again Kristin.

Hi Kristin:
This is Gita Audhya. Thanks for giving my book 4 star.
I am going to send you my book "In Pursuit of love, spirituality and happiness" which I have updated recently by adding more chapters to give more comprehensive and precise idea what the book is all about after receiving a suggestion from Kirkus and Production Dept.
Oliana's character has some magical and mythical elements (as I kept in mind to make a movie some day) as well as she is a very real person who has all the problem in today's world like fear to fall in love with a person of different culture, romance, and then to endure pain when romantic love fade away after a while when Jonathan neglect her to give attention being so busy with his job.
Oliana is free-spirited. She worships nature as God, in this case Goddess Pele (fire Goddess in Hawaii) as all of us experience that feeling from time to time. She love surfing, swimming with the dolphins, pay tribute to nature through dance.
Jonathan's character experiences sufferings in silent from his childhood to adulthood finally puts to an end as he was very ethical and spiritual and when he found real love that gave him courage and happiness which he has never came to close due to his artificial and put-on society.
I would love to know how you feel about my updated book.
Thank you.

I only hesitate because I really and truly do NOT have the extra money. I'm disabled and although I do bring in some money from my freelance editing, it's usually only just enough to pay for my doctors' visits and medicine, and my husband is just in fast-food, so not much money there. *shrug* Anyway, how hard is it to transfer over the books? I have literally thousands on my shelves at GR, it's the most complete one I have, and it if is terribly complicated, that's another issue...
She probably had something come up and didn't finish it, which is sad because it really sounded like an awesome book. If you do a Google search, you can probably find her blog and try commenting. That's how I tracked her down the first time. Thanks for the friend request. One more blow-up on Goodreads and I'm paying the fee and moving my marbles over here... :-)
No, I've tried to have them drop off books that never arrived (the very first one I won in August 2011 never arrived... to ANYONE, and I had another that apparently arrived to everyone but ME and they ignored my first two requests about it and then said, "oh, well, everyone ELSE received it, guess you're SOL"), but they don't. However, as long as you have marked it as "not received" it will not count against you or affect your ability to receive more Early Reviewer's books. So just be sure to mark it as not received and you'll be okay. I had forgotten it was an Early Reviewer's, I had it in my head it was just a Member's giveaway... Heh.
I have tried several times in the past year to contact Tracy Marcini about "Luminary" but she is no longer responding to my contact attempts. I have no idea what has happened there.
Dear Kristin,

Your review of "Caged: Memoirs of a Cage-Fighting Poet" could not have come at a better time. Thank you, deeply, for taking a moment to share your thoughts. It means the world to me.

Hi,

I'd like to apologize. You recently won my novel, Dirty Little Angels, through The LibraryThing Member Giveaway. Unfortunately, I mistakenly posted the giveaway as a physical book instead of an e-book, so when I received the list of winners, no emails were included. Are you interested in receiving a free e-book version of the novel? If so, send me your e-mail address (mine is mail@christophertusa.com), and I'll send you a free copy.

Sorry for the confusion,

Chris
Sorry, I'm actually trying to track down another copy myself.
Hi Kristin,

Given you read my spiritual suspense thriller THE LAST DAY, I wanted to let you know that my new book THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL was released last week by MacMillan.

Publishers Weekly says: "Kleier's undeniably gripping second spiritual thriller is bound to provoke just as many arguments as his controversial first novel, THE LAST DAY. THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL is the first of a trilogy, and Kleier's many fans will only hope they won't have to wait long for the next installment."

If you enjoyed LAST DAY, I think you'll find KNOWLEDGE an even more engaging read.

Thanks, and best wishes,

Hi Kristin,

As a friend of mine here, will you also do me the honor of joining the Facebook page for my new novel, THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL (MacMillan, July 2011)? The page will feature upcoming events that I think you’ll find interesting.

To kick things off we'll be issuing major updates starting June 18th, including the premier of the KNOWLEDGE video trailer. It's unlike any I've ever seen, and I trust you'll feel the same.

Hey,

Not sure if you remember me or not, but you reviewed my novel, Dirty Little
Angels, a while back. I'm writing because I'm almost done with my new novel, In
the Valley of Falling Stars, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in
taking a look at it and giving me your opinion. I can send you a complete
summary, but it's essentially about a mentally-ill man living in post-Katrina
New Orleans who becomes convinced that his wife is pregnant with Jesus Christ.
The book is still in process, but the entire book is sketched out, and I
currently have eight chapters that I feel are done. If you're too busy, I
understand. Just thought I'd ask.

Hope you're doing well,

Chris
Good to meet you, Kristin, best wishes for the New year. Glenn
That seems like a pretty good fit. I was a 55D, served four years enlisted and then moved on. But it was a rewarding experience. I was actually stationed in the DC area, down in Northern VA.

MLIS in Dublin. Wow. That sounds like a cool gig; a tough one to beat. How long in Dublin?
I served four years in the Army, also after finishing a degree. It sort of sets yoyu apart when you have that kind of education. How much longer do you have?
Okay, you are on my list of most shared, and have been for some time. But I've never read your profile. You have an interesting background, entering the military after finishing a masters. What did you do? Which branch of hte military? Still in?
Noticed that you liked The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). I thought you might like my novel since it's been compared to that novel by a number of reviewers. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thank you for accepting my friends invitation. I hope my profile gave you some new insights into Volney, Jefferson and Franco-American history. I will be glad to answer any questions you might have regarding Volney, his views, or book purchases. All Zee Best, TCW
Also, will need to check on copyright issues, of course.

Hi:

Delighted to help, if I can. I travel for a living, and am only home a few hours each week. First, what is your deadline? I need to dig out the book, get the pages scanned, etc - do not have the equipment at my office to make it into a pdf. Does it have to be a pdf? Do you have a fax number/machine?

Kristin,

Isn't Shadow Divers a great read? I really, really enjoyed it, too. :)
It will be great to hear your ideas about the book...I look forward to it.

Cheers,
Dawn
The story of Mr Shi (complete with audio) is here here

Jim
Aha, I see what you mean. Actually I don't need the dictionary (and that one is one of the smallest and simplest Chinese dictionaries that I own) since I read Chinese quite well and can input the Pinyin anyway. It's just that Pinyin is realy just a teaching aide rather than an alternative way of reading Chinese. There are just so many characters that are pronounced the same way that trying to read anything more than a few characters long soon degenerates into guesswork. I have (somewhere) a handwritten sheet of paper with probably about 200-250 characters on it telling a story about a Mr Shi who went to a market and had an adventure with ten stone lions who came to life and EVERY SINGLE character in the story is pronounced "shi" (in different tones of course) in pinyin it would look like this...

Shi Shi shi shishi shi, shi shi. Shishi shishi shi shi shishi. Shi shishi shishi shi Shishi. etc etc

It makes for hilarious reading out loud but in pinyin its a bit boring!

Jim
A source? A source of what? I think I missed something :)
No, for romanisation I would use Pinyin. Don't lose any sleep over it, I've had them for years and they ain't a'goin nowhere!
Hi, I've just uploaded a cover for "The Pocket English-Chinese (Pinyin) Dictionary" by Commercial Press (ISBN 9620700465). Thought you'd like to know since there are only two of us who share it.

Do you have other Chinese Language reference books? I've got a bunch that were published in the PRC and have no ISBNs. I've been avoiding cataloging them and I'd be interested to know what your approach has been.

Jim
Thanks for your message. Hope you enjoy the books and look forward to chatting with you.
It's nice to meet you! I look forward to exploring your books.
