Students can engage in predictions (1), The Frog and Toad series are great starter (1), its a good time to relate the students that they can see life from a new perspective. The young girl and her Abuela fly together (1), A girl and her abuela go for a walk in the park and suddenly they are flying! This is a fantastic story that brings in some multicultural aspects of life (1), Students showed excitement during this read aloud. It is a well composed story about a little girl who loves to try on her mothers ring and comes to realize that the ring has fallen into the Tamales. Her siblings and her try to find the ring in the Tamale (1), to having a wonderful time at the wedding. (1), and how they change over time. It is important to provide background knowledge about what it means to 'have butterflies.' A little girl is going to be a flower girl in her aunt's wedding. The reader will be able to follow her emotions through the steps to (1), This book shares a wonderful opportunity to discuss characters feelings (1), so they will never be bothered again. This story demonstrated a wonderful element of surprise. (1), about a group of boys who are sadly being bullied at the playground. In order to save their favorite soccer ball the boys trick the bullies (1), Students really enjoyed this read aloud (1), During this story students were encouraged to make connections with the characters in order to understand the elements of character development. As a little girl teaches her grandmother how to read they work together to make it a surprise on her dad's bir (1), ONE of my favorite children's books growing up. More to come... (1), I read this book to my fourth grade internship class in order to tie into a part of history lessons based on orphans. (1), Read during the SLI. Students were excited to see how the ending gave a little twist they were not expecting. Students still refer back to this book when discussing problem solutions. I was so drawn into the way the story was written like a series of letters. You can feel yourself really connecting with the 'writer.' (1), things. It uses a metaphor of a bucket and a dipper. Its a very cute story and teaches a lesson without even realizing it. (1), and based on the descriptions and illustrations you feel like you are there!! (1), Caldecott Winner. Author of Blueberries for Sal and One Morning in Maine. This story takes you on a journey through the islands (1), , character development and making connections easily with these books. (1)
