About meI am an Adult Services Librarian with a strong interest in Readers Advisory. Mostly, I'm interested in connecting people with books — fiction or nonfiction — whichever they want.
Currently, I work at Naperville Public Library (NPL) in Naperville, IL. NPL is a municipal library within the DuPage Library System. From 2001 to 2006, I worked as a Readers Advisor for Indian Prairie Public Library (IPPL) in Darien, IL. IPPL is a district library within the Metropolitan Library System.
I am also a member of the Adult Reading Round Table. I am currently participating in their two-year Romance Genre Study.
I obtained my Masters of Library and Information Science through the LEEP program of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2006. As an undergraduate, I double majored in biology and mathematics at Austin College, a liberal arts college outside Dallas, TX. I love learning about almost anything. The main constant in my life has been books and libraries.
Share and Enjoy!

If you apologize for your reading tastes, you are really apologizing for your freedom.
About my libraryBecause I am a librarian who loves providing readers advisory services, not all the books in my library are books I have read out of personal desire. I tend to prefer genre fiction, particularly science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and thrillers. I read other genres to learn more about them or specific authors.
However, my star ratings are based on my personal likes and dislikes:
5 stars -- Mandatory Reading (when I'm made dictator of the universe)
4.5 stars -- Excellent enough to warrant rereading
4 stars -- Very Good
3 stars -- Good
2 stars -- Not my thing, but OK
1 star -- Forced myself to finish or couldn't finish
I read a lot of audio books, so I can read and do other things simultaneously. Narrators I really love are:
Scott Brick
Jim Dale
Susan Ericksen
George Guidall
Dick Hill -- great for hard-boiled/noir
Michael Kramer
Davina Porter
Frank Muller
Kate Reading
