About meI'm warden and prisoner of Horizon Books on Capitol Hill, Seattle-- night shift thru the week and all day Saturday. I'm manning this ship until it sinks with the rest of the independent big stores under the crushing tsunami of internet booksellers. I'm moving to Olympia for school next Fall, so for every new book I acquire, I must sacrifice 3 in my collection just to keep things pared down.

About my libraryI have a love/hate relationships with books... with possessions in general. I just bought a dictionary-- a standard College edition, 15 yrs old. Nothing fancy. I feel like packing that in my suitcase and setting fire to all the others. I've realized that collecting books can be a kind of addiction, especially when you get into wanting nothing but First Editions and such. I'd prefer to have a rotating stock of favorites that I could lend out to people I may meet who actually read, a slimming population to be sure.
