About me"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain; So that's what I'm attempting to do, way too slowly...A challenging day job in film which I try not to make the sum of my life. Working on plans to get beyond the tidy suburban life that threatens true living. Three great kids; two of them grown. However, my real passion is my photography and my art. I'll spend hours talking your ears off about that. Other stuff I like includes camping, travel, BRC, NPR, MOCA, SRL, skiing, movies and This American Life. And not to forget the never ending searches for true love and wisdom and the wonderful adventures they inspire. I've always liked the reds (go cinci), supported the greens, and got the blues. I like to travel, particularly the dry slickrock country of southern Utah and the lush forests of Northern California. Camping and hiking is important to me. I love little known movies and well known restaurants. I enjoy listening to silence in the hills or blues in a club.
About my libraryBig fan of Ed Abbey, Hunter S Thompson, J.P. Donlevy, Thomas Disch, PK Dick, Neal Stephenson, William Gibson. Anything on Lincoln. A fair conjuring collection, esoteric and weird stuff, anything that amuses, Old BSA manuals, editing theory, conspiracy theory, theories of theory, Whole Earth anything, atomic airplanes, novelty catalogs, hollowed-out books, photography books.
