About meI live, write, parent and play in Ottawa Canada. I am also in ongoing treatment for breast cancer that spread to my liver and then disappeared! You can read all about it in my book, Not Done Yet: Living Through Breast Cancer, available from Women's Press (https://www.womenspress.ca/motion.asp?si...). (and yes I do know that i left the pen cap on when posing for this profile pic!)

About my libraryI decided to use Library Thing to track books as I read them. All the books listed have been read since January 2007 (books started after January 1, 2008 are tagged with the year read). I own many more books than listed here and I don't own all of the books in my Library Thing library (I have tagged library books as well, as I find it interesting to note how much I use the public library).

I'm still reading your book, about halfway through. I do love to read, but just don't have a lot of time to spend doing so. I do love your book! And thank you so much for not only sending it to me, but for writing it. My mom died of cancer 20 years ago when I was just turning 18. She first found out she had cancer that I remember when I was about 7, so she had lived with it for several years & withstood a lot of treatment which was even more brutal then than it is now, if that makes any sense. I've always wondered how she might have felt sometimes about different things, & your book gives me some insight into maybe some of those things. I also find hope in your book, as I will be turning 38 this year & sometimes wonder how I might deal with something such as a cancer diagnosis. I would love to write a review, although I'm sure I'm not very good at it. But I will have to figure out just how to do it. Hopefully I will figure it out by the time I'm finished with the book. Thanks again!
All righty thanks for the heads up :) Can't wait to read it!
Hi! I noticed that we both got the same July books - I was definitely expecting our libraries to have more overlap. I'm doing the same thing with adding books I've read - the only reason I have so many is that LibraryThing let me import the 3 systems I've used over the last 5 years.

I'll be looking for your reviews!
Hi,

My name is Dawn Connolly and I am a LibraryThing member and a librarian at Toronto Public Library. I see that you have recently added “Custodian of Paradise” to your library. I run an online book club called Book Buzz and this month we are discussing the book. It’s a friendly group, very relaxed, and we’d love to hear from you, too.

Our website is: http://bookbuzz.torontopubliclibrary.ca

We are also very lucky to be hosting a live online chat with the author, Wayne Johnston, on Thursday, November 22, 7:30-8:30 PM (local time). Please feel free to join in.

Thanks,
Dawn
