About meI read books, eat chocolate, spoil my two cats, dink around on my guitars, and write poems. My first chapbook of poetry, Breach, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2008. You can order it from amazon.com or directly from me. See this page for sample poems, reviews, ordering details, etc.

About my libraryI started by cataloging a big chunk of my poetry and "writing-related" collections, including only books I actually own (I read a lot of library books too) and have already read (I'm pretending to ignore those teetering piles of "to be read"). I've cataloged my travel books and the books about whales, and I've just gotten through my general fiction/nonfiction. Then there's reference, cookbooks, and books on librarianship. We'll see how this goes.

The 1,000th book I entered was Alice Walker's The Color Purple. I don't know why I think that's so interesting, but I do.

Well, I have to admit there are still HUGE sections of my library I have not put into LibraryThing -- including my small young adult lit section -- I still am a big fan of young adult lit, and will pick up a book here and there. When I get caught up on my life (Ha!) I will start cataloging those...
I read your blog, and I decided to check out your library. I haven't quite cataloged 1000 books yet, but I am getting there... We do share a lot of books.
Nice post at your blog about the Gluck reading. She's always been a favorite of mine--I still re-read *The House on the Marshland* from time to time.

Happy reading (and writing).

Kel
I'll check your blog soon for the report of the Gluck reading. I enjoy her work so much--my favorite, though, remains *The House on the Marshland.*

Happy reading!

Kel
Just a wave from someone with a lot of the same books (at least so far). I admire your good taste in poetry *chuckle.*

Best,

Kel Munger
Hi Anne
:)

My bookshelf fell over haha. It wasn't nailed into the studs of the wall. So as I move stuff around I am adding the titles into Library Thing.

Hi back! Welcome to Crack!Thing! ;-)
I'm glad to see that you have Sheryl Luna's Pity the Drowned Horses. Her book was nominated for the Bluestem prize in 2003; it should have won. B.H. Fairchild, however, decided on someone else that year. I also recommend Virginia Chase Sutton's Embellishments. I think you would like it and can find it at Chatoyant. Elizabeth Tibbetts and Sherry Fairchok are worth investigating, too.
Hi Anne! You know, we don't share a single book. It's a bummer, but welcome to LibraryThing.
Hi Anne,
Good to see you on LibraryThing :) I admit -- I'm a big fan of LibraryThing. I love cataloging my books -- must be the fact that I'm the son of two librarians. Still a long way for entering everything, but most of the poetry books are done (still need to add the poetry in translation section).
