I left you a note in the Early reviewer thread for What are you reading the week of July12, but was afraid you might miss it! Just wanted to pass along that I love the Elm Creek series that you said you are reading. I still have the 2 latest ones to read..but love them all!! So keep at it, I think you will love each one you read!

I'm sure glad you got the books before Christmas!
I looked your library over and didn't find a single author any of whose books I've read! Except for JK Rowling. So I could tell there would be no book I've read and know is good that would be of the kind you usually read, and I didn't really know what sort of books all those you listed are. That made it a very tough choice! You named kinds of book not to get, and you did like the Harry Potter books, and you are in the Christian reading group. I went from those things. To Say Nothing of the Dog was well off the beaten track in books of the sort I usually read, and reminded me extremely much of Jane Austen, but in a completely different context. I thought it was simply delightful, and it left me with wonderful memories and images that have been with me for several years now. I thought it might fit in the realm of books you'd like. Someplace to be Flying was an extremely warm book with wonderful characters which also made a great impression on me. Both are in the realm of "best books" from my reading experience in the last ten years, and many people think they are excellent books. They are not "Christian" books, but I think there is nothing in them that goes against Christian values, at least no more than the Harry Potter books do, and you liked them. They are as good a bet as I could make. I hope you do like them. I hope you love them! I'll enjoy hearing what you think.
Thanks for your note.
Merry Christmas!
