I can really relate to having to change how one spends their time. That's one of my big themes for the year. So glad you're blogging. At least I can keep track of you, a little, that way. Did you know we have a blog at OSAi? (onestepawayintl.org). THere's a little (itty bitty) box in the bottom right hand corner which says "follow." If you click it, you can sign up for email notification. Usually not more than one per week if that.

xox Be well. Bless you sis.
Amen to your blog post -- Much afraid no more :)

Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2013 will be the year I post the review from the Secret Santa book you gave me a while back. (I am on the last few pages, and so far I am enjoying it)

Have a great holiday.

Nicole
Good. Those prayers are something He'll honor.

Wonderful blog post today -- love your heart!
I am so enjoying your blog. Thank you. The last two posts have really blessed me. (Love Bridges too)
Just read your blog about blessings in sickness. Praise God! He's so good.

Hi Laura,

Thank you! I just received my Secret Santa books on 12/30 and I wanted to let you know how excited I am about both books. I have heard great things about them but have not had a change to read either one; and I know that I am going to enjoy them.

I believe I am going to begin with Into the Looking Glass first (time travel and portals seem intriguing), then onto Cutting for Stone. :-)

I hope that you have a happy and prosperous New Year!

Blue Skies.

Nicole

Thanks Laura
THanks Laura -- hope yours was grand. As to staying warm, we're having a bit of trouble keeping the fire going. The wood may be wet, I guess, although it doesn't seem so. Anyway, I get fed up and just put on another layer! LOL

Blessings!
Laura

I'm sending healing energy your way. So sorry you are not well, and glad that you enjoyed the Aunt Dimity book. I read Snowbound out of order and then realized the importance of reading the first book.

I have many of them that I was fortunate enough to purchase at a local library sale. If you would like, as I read them I can pass them along.

Thanks for your kind words. I hope you feel better this evening and tomorrow.

Hugs
Linda
Hi Laura

I'm glad you rec'd. the book. Thanks for letting me know...
I'm anxious to learn your thoughts. Like, you, I read another Aunt Dimity book before reading the first one and I was lost. I realized that it was important to read book #1 as it sets the foundation.

All the best,
Linda
Hi Laura
I found the Aunt Dimity book and wrapped it. I'll send it to you tomorrow.

Linda
Laura

I saw your post re. the fact that you cannot locate the first Aunt Dimity book. I have this and if you send your address to my home page, I'll send it along to you.

All the best,
Linda
Hope you've had a wonderful Christmas, Laura! I didn't realize until I got your message on my thread that you live in Cornelius! I don't know it well, but I went to Queens and later worked for DSS in Charlotte. Small state!
Our forecast keeps changing, but we're supposed to get snow beginning overnight and going on through the day tomorrow. Wow! I know that I'm supposed to be adult and regret the trouble and danger to people who have to be out in the stuff, but I'm excited.
I see that we have some interesting books in common - lots of mysteries, fantasies and scifi and some imminently respectable stuff too. I look forward to chatting in the new year!
Peace,
Peggy
Merry Christmas to you! I'm glad you like it!
Hi Laura,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for "A Guide to the Birds of East Africa" and "Cutting for Stone." I'm going to start "A Guide" today. I'm still making my through "Middlemarch" but I'm on the home stretch (only 60 pages to go) and while I've really enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to moving on.

My husband and I are going to take a trip to Cannon Beach, OR in January and I'm planning to do a lot of reading and will take "Cutting for Stone" along with me.

Hope you're having a great Christmas. I got my husband to take a look at the Christmas Ladder Tree and he liked it so hopefully we'll have one for next year.

All the best,

Pat
Hi Laura

Merry Christmas. You are such a delight and I look forward to your participation in the 2011 75 challenge group.

All good wishes for a wonderful holiday.
Hi Laura,

I got home last night and your package was here! So far I am exercising restraint (of course it's only been 12 hours) but at least for now I like the idea of waiting till Christmas. I'll let you know if I succumb before then.

Thanks so much.

Pat
Hi Laura,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be away visiting my mother the next few days (and not on LT) so if your package comes, I won't see it until Thursday. I didn't want you to worry I hadn't gotten it. :)

Pat
Laura- How are you? I haven't seen you around much. Hope all is well. We started a Christmas Book Swap thread:http://www.librarything.com/topic/103789
Stop by and say hi. Did you get your gift out? Take care!

Mark
I purchased The Poisonwood Bible today simply because I remembered what you said about it in your review! Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks Laura!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday this weekend!

Thanks so much for letting me know this! I know that writing reviews is very fulfilling for me - but it's great to hear that they might have led a reader to a book they enjoyed. Happy reading!
Thanks Laura! I love writing reviews of books that really get inside me and make me think. I think you'll really enjoy Greene (though I can't speak for the rest of his books). There are big implications to what he wrote in The End of the Affair. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on his stuff!
One of the worst things we can do is to make a god in the image of our fears and doubts and then force him on everyone else. But it is very difficult to accept a God of grace and mercy who says all your works of righteousness cannot buy you what He is willing to give you.

This is a beautiful opening to a great review. Thanks for your sensitive, intelligent thoughts on that novel!
Nice review on The Immigration Crisis -- lucky you to be an early reviewer :)
Aren't you a sweetheart -- no offense taken. It never even occurred to me!! xox
So there are 2 jobs to pray for! Will do. Appreciate you!
Thanks for joining, and looking forward to interesting and fun conversation!
Thank you! He is good. If I think about it I just start leaking like a faucet again (like now). So glad you joined and thanks responding :)
