That was a very lucky find at the used book store!
I didn't bring Petticoat Tails or Scotch Shortbread into the office (with my huge Lion Rampant flag) this year for St. Andrew's Day, because that day was Sunday. I hope you celebrated appropriately. (Not that the Scots ever celebrated St. Andrew's Day -- it's just a good excuse for a dram. Kind of like green beer on St. Patrick's Day.)

Can you kindly tell me who in your family has Handbook for Travelers in Scotland, and how he/she acquired it?
I'm fascinated that someone else has that book. Mine was passed along from my great-grandmother (a Scot) and her Polish husband.
