Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

I agree with you that the author of The Glass Castle showed no bitterness or anger, which was really impressive. I was amazed that she could still make it through Barnard, after such a chaotic upbringing and sporadic schooling. Regardless of her innate intelligence (which she clearly had), I would still think that it would be quite a struggle for her to keep up with an Ivy League education. The schools she described in West Virginia were about as bad as it gets (she says that some of her teachers didn't have college educations) so you would think it would be a real challenge for her to keep up in college and that there would be some real holes in her education. The transition from W. VA to New York also seemed really easy, which I think would not be the case. Interesting things to think about.
I saw that your read The Glass Castle. I just finished it and was wondering how much was true and how much was fictionalized. I enjoyed the book but some parts seemed hard to believe. Thoughts?
