About meI am a 60 year old attorney practicing primarily in the areas of Chapter 11 reorganization and commercial litigation. I have been a practicing attorney since 1986. For about 12 years prior to becoming an attorney I was an academic economist.

I am a convert to Judaism of a conservative/traditionalist variety, but with a strong egalitarian bent.

I have an extensive background in classical liberal, libertarian and anarchist theory.

My hobbies are collecting books, growing succulent plants and taking care of a household full of pets.

About my libraryEverything listed in my librarything library I own. My entire "holdings" is about 8,000 volumes, with only the most accessible ones being listed here.

The explanation for this book acquiring insanity is that I have been operating out of the pre-internet mentality of "Gee, that looks like an interesting book, and it's in one of my fields of interest. I bet if I don't buy that copy now I'll never see one again." Gradually I am starting to come to grips with the reality of many volumes being available in electronic form and others being always available through bookfinder.com or equivalent. But decades of conditioning are hard to break.

Although I have been a member of Librarything for a couple of years, I have just started actively participating. Hence, most of my energy has been expended in adding books to my library here rather than in reviewing, tagging or commenting on them. That will change over the next six months. If, in the interim, anyone is aware of a good librarything discussion of any of the volumes I've added to my library, please let me know.

Update: I have recently been going through my library and adding the tag "Top 100 books." The problem is that I think I've already marked over 100 volumes. Until I get this corrected, read "Top 100 books" as "If you're interested in this field, you really should read this volume."
