Tad Williams "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" definitely, similar stories to those you've already read. Also early Robin Hobb should be ok, check "Assassin" and "Ship" series. Slow to start, but gets better fast.

Btw have you checked yet "Night of Knives" by Ian Cameron Esslemont? Supposed to be part of Malazan Books of the Fallen universe! Some good reviews in Amazon, but nothing here in LT.
How about K.J.Parker? Three excellent trilogies to get stuck into...

Winterbirth by Brian Ruckley sounds excellent, though I haven't read it yet

Or Tad Williams?
Suggestions on what to read next? getting stuck for something to go onto! HELP!
