About me"When I get a little money, I buy books. And if there is any left over, I buy food." -- Deciderius Erasmus
That quote was painted on the wall of one of the many bookstores I've worked in over the span of about eight years. I found it ironic because most of the time my paycheck went right back into the store. My book collection grew larger and larger, but I became poorer and poorer.
I am currently a student enrolled in the Humanities program at the local community college and I am slowly plodding down the long path to follow my pipe dream of going onward to study library science.
About my libraryThis account is a birthday gift from a book-loving fiend, er, friend. I have only categorized a small portion of my collection and she has given me the excuse to spend more time with my books.
I buy books more often than I ever get a chance to read them. From chain bookstores where I used to work to tiny independent used bookstores. Library bag sales make me quake. I have books in stacks all over my house, in boxes in the basement, in piles on the floor of the attic, the backseat of my car. Maybe there are some in the freezer as well.

Did you get this in one of your used bookstore romps? It's in such pristine condition! I'm sorry I haven't sent a thank-you yet. I've been distracted by all our other Internet conversations!

I meant to ask you about your ultimate goal now that you've started school; librarianship would be such a perfect end to the road. And you might be going in at the right time, since within the next 5 - 10 years, most of the librarians are expected to be retiring and opening spots for new peeps. I like the "library book sales make me quake" line. :)
