great to hear from you and sorry it took me so long to get back - I haven't been on Librarything for a month. I like your library, too, very interesting books, many of them are on my reading list. I really like Oliver Sach's books, I like reading about how little errors in the brain account for a very different experience of the world and the self - it is somehow very humbling to read about that and to think about the fragility of life and of the human intellect. It's something I think about often, especially when I look around and see how many things we are taking for granted and how convinced I sometimes am of my version of reality without realizing how much it is a temporary construct heavily influenced by the conditions of my brain and my nervous system. And - on a lighter note - if you are interested in reading a novel with satirical elements about Oliver Sachs, I'd recommend The Echo Maker by Richard Powers. I liked Diane Ackerman's "An Alchemy of Mind" - not so much for the neuroscience but more for the beautiful writing. How did you like Grandin Temple's "Animals in translation" - it's a book that I've been wanting to read for a long time.
