About meMy favorite authors include Donald Miller, PG Wodehouse, Margaret Atwood, David Mitchell, Jane Austen, Bill Bryson, Jasper Fforde, Elizabeth Gaskell, Wilkie Collins, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Josephine Tey, CS Lewis, Lauren Winner, Connie Willis, Marian Keyes, Haven Kimmel, Ray Bradbury, Adam Gopnick, Alan Bennett, Shane Claiborne, Rob Bell, George Saunders, David Sedaris, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and John Connolley, among many many many others.

To earn my keep I'm a technical editor (I proof a lot of fine print, among other things). Aside from reading, I spend my spare time taking walks, admiring Craftsman architecture, blogging, worrying about killer bees, playing Boggle, working to end human trafficking, being artsy, loving everything British except for Marmite, writing, hiking, being sarcastic, wondering about Big Questions, collecting ampersands, sitting in the sun, traveling, serving others, wishing I was in Scotland, cleaning my condo, buying shoes, freelancing, organizing my books, eating my vegetables, watching Arrested Development, and making lists.

I just HAD to check out your library.

'For the simple reason that you have the strangest moniker in all of LT!

Regards,

Steve
I just noticed you have Cloud Atlas in your library, but it's not rated. If you're up for reading it I'm hosting my first readalong in March and that's the book I picked! You should join in if your reading schedule isn't book. I keep hearing it's a book that sparks great discussions.

I'm going to have to read that one, because Emilio is a character I would love to learn more about. I'm sure it won't pack the same punch, but your review makes it seem like it's still worth it. If you ever have any recommendations, please send them my way!

Oh my gosh, I just finished The Sparrow and I'm still reeling. What an amazing book! I just loved it. I compeltely agree with your review though, I put this one off for so long because the summary just didn't sound that great. The beauty of the book is in the stregth of the characters and the question of faith, it's not just "Priests in Space!" It's one of those that I know I'll be thinking about for a long time.

I'm curious, have you heard anything (good or bad) about the sequel, Children of God? If it's good I'd love to read it. But I'm worried that if it's not good it'll take something away from the power of The Sparrow.

Hey,

It looks like we have remarkably similar taste in book. Just glancing through your fav authors I kept thinking, me too, me too! I think there are 3 that I haven't read something from and now I want to check them out. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and thanks for all the great reviews you've posted.

Cheers,
Melissa
