It might help you that Gill is available online at freegrace.net and studylight.org. (I sometimes use the eBook version, but usually I prefer Calvin and the IVP Bible Background Commentary.)

I've just purchased the John Gill set in the last few weeks, so I'm not sure that I'm the best authority on it. I've read the commentary on a few chapters so far and enjoyed what I've read. Gill literally goes verse-by-verse and a comment on a verse may range from 4 or 5 lines to more than a page. I've been reading the Old Testament Commentary on Numbers and he references a great deal of Hebraic commentary. Interestingly, there are also many references to classical works.
Each volume pushes a thousand pages, so this is a massive work. It's the best I've seen from a Reformed Baptist postition.

Yeah, I've only done two out of 10 shelves of Christian books, then I'll have to do commentaries, then start on the secular books. I'm definitely going to have to do the lifetime thing.
I'd love to get together sometime. Maybe after the holidays. Can you believe Christmas is almost here again?
