About meI'm a librarian in Alaska. I probably have as many lists of books I want to read as I do books on my shelf. Lately I've been bouncing between juvenile and young adult fiction, and non-fiction. My blog on livejournal is primarily about reference questions I've fielded, going back to my grad school days...
I love learning about new books coming out; even if I don't have time to read the books, at least I can make time for reviews. In addition to scouring libraries on LibraryThing, I love the NYTimes Book Review, Booklist, and serendipitously finding books of interest online. Vivan los libros!

About my libraryMy personal library has been seriously weeded since I've moved from Arizona to Washington to Kentucky to Oregon to Alaska between 2000 and 2006. That kind of moving makes you want to be very certain that the books you move are the books you cannot live without (when you are the one lifting all the boxes!)

I read your haiku for Deadline. It was beautiful.

I've read a couple of your reviews -- love the Haiku format!
You have inspired me to do a haiku book review contest in my school library (maybe in April during National Poetry Month).

Thanks!
Erin
Linda-

Thanks for checking out my blog! New job, new blog, new at Librarything, and now new friend. All very good.

Marcia
Hi - Great haiku review of Ada Blackjack.
Just wanted to let you know I enjoyed reading through your reviews today!
Hi! I really enjoyed "Life as We Knew It" as well. I was able to snag an ARC a few months ago. It is actually published on June 1, 2008. I would offer you my ARC, but I have already given it away. Check around and see if anyone may have a copy that you can read before June. I know I had a hard time knowing that I may have to wait until June to read the second book. :) Good luck!
Thanks for commenting back -- I think you're only my second comment ever! I liked Twilight a lot. I got the audio book and I was glad because I couldn't have finished it fast enough if I had to actually read it. I'm a Buffy (the Vampire Slayer) fan, so it was interesting to see that Twilight is so similar even though Meyer claims never to have seen the show. I'm waiting for my turn on the hold list to come and New Moon to become available! In the mean time, I'm listening to The secret life of bees and just started Raven's gate at the suggestion from a young patron.
I love your idea of haiku reviews (I discovered them reading reviews of Twilight). Short, to the point, and amusing. Thanks!
hey linda - sorry if this is a 2nd comment. not sure the 1st one went through? just wanted to say thanks for checking out voodoo heart. sorry it disappointed, but would be up for hearing more from you about it if you'd be willing to tell me your thoughts. thanks again. s
linda- sorry you didn't like voodoo heart. would love to hear more about what disappointed you, though. it'd be helpful. appreciate you checking it out. scott
Linda, I'm so glad you found me! I'd been hoping to hear from or find a fellow Alaskan. Where are you a librarian? From your library, I'd almost guess you're in a school??? My dream is to one day be a librarian as well. That and pen a passable (e.g. publish-able) book - right now I'm working on a manuscript in the teen genre. What are you reading right now? I'm working "Fledgling" by Octavia Butler. Did you see the sunrise this morning (11/29)? Amazing. - Linda
