About meI've been a book lover since I first learned how to read.

On a desert island with only ten books? Hm.
-The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
-Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder
-In the Night Garden by Catherynne M. Valente
-A Gentle Madness by Nicolas Basbanes
-The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Bealge
-Inside the Victorian Home by Judith Flanders
-Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
-Winter Rose, Patricia McKillip

About my libraryAlthough originally for just my books, this catalog now includes my husband's collection. I read and collect a lot of speculative fiction by women; studies on gender, sexuality, and race; books about movies, particularly the golden age of Hollywood; and anything about The Beatles.

I think I'm about halfway through our library. With all the books we have scattered around our apartment - and some stored at parents' houses - it's hard even to estimate.

Looking for a copy of Ghosts of Gunkanjima by Catherynne M. Valente, if anyone is willing to part with theirs!

I am amused by our libraries' overlaps! (From Cat Valente to... Magical Pokemon Journey? Ha!) Good luck with the continued archiving of your collection - I look forward to seeing what you put up.
Jackie, thanks for replying. I thought that I had deleted that message so as not to bother you. After I wrote you, I found that it was only $1.99 for Kindle, so I snapped up a copy and will not want yours after all.
Apparently, I will do anything to get a book I want - even proposition perfect strangers! The only favor I can think of to do you in return is to ask whether you've read Joyce Carol Oates's Blonde. I just finished it this month and it is a fabulous book - probably JCO's best (although I haven't read her often). I see that you like the golden age of Hollywood, and this gives you a feeling for the inside nitty gritty and real insight into Norma Jeane and Marilyn.
On the other hand, you might not like it. I remember really enjoying The Magus, which I see was worthy of only 2 stars from you.
Anyway, thank you for coming to answer my request. I'm happy to meet you.
Peggy
