About meI am a bookseller, I work for Barnes & Noble in Indianapolis. I also recently started my working on my master degree in Library Science at Indiana University (in Indianapolis). I find the feel, smell and sound of the page of a book to be one of the most relaxing sounds ever. Give me a good cup of coffee and a good book and I'm content for hours.

About my libraryMy library has a mixture of fiction, non fiction, theology, poetry, art, and Shakespeare. There are few odds and ends that find themselves in there, too. Its not a huge library, but it is slowly growing.

Something of interest about my library: I am a huge Kinky Friedman fan; I have every book he has ever written (and most of them are signed). Kinky Friedman is the biggest name in my author cloud. Vote Kinky for Govenor of Texas!

Go Kafka!
I live in Plainfield but work at the Borders by Monument Circle in Indy.
I just happened to click on the kinkyfoguvnah picture, which took me to your photostream thingie... And then I saw Shelby Foote (without, I might add, reading a caption). You are awesome.
Hey! I know it's a long time getting back to you...sorry about that. Anyway, yes, I did see Stone Reader. In fact, I went about the whole Stones of Summer experience backward: first I saw the movie and then I read the book. Regardless of how I found it, I'm glad I did. That's one amazing book.

Also, I work for the library system here in S.C. Are you still going after you MLIS degree? Good luck to you if you are. I'm finishing up a degree that will (hopefully) allow me to fine work as a writer/editor.

Take it easy.
*smiles* THANK YOU! For introducing me to this site. I love it! I've been wanting to catalog my books for a while, and this is the perfect way to do it!
I love the Stone Reader. I have the DVD. I never could get far into the Stones of Summer. Maybe I need to let it sit for a few decades. :)
I also forgot to mention--do you have Stone Reader on DVD? Great fun to watch over and over. We have been to the website, and matching books mentioned with our shelves.

I found mine at a yard sale. It has library stamps, too, but aparently, it had never been checked out. Cost: $5.00.
Finding something like this: PRICELESS!!
Hi! Yes, we did see the movie, and I loved the book. My wife could not quite get into it. My Master's thesis was on Joyce, so I am used to dense reads. The ending blew me away. If you do not mind my asking, where did you track down a 1st edition, and how much was it?
gosh. i'm in the LIS masters program at UT. whyever did you leave?
