About meI have a T-shirt that says, "Cats, Books, Life is Good", and that says a lot about me. I live in a cute little townhouse with two cats, a Japanese Bobtail, Yuki, and a yellow tabby, Robin. I enjoy arts and crafts, although I am lazy about getting things done and have many incomplete projects around the house, and I love going to art shows, literary science fiction conventions, Celtic Festivals, Pow-Wows and other one or two day events. I currently am enjoying jewlry making and have actually finished a couple of projects! I am Pagan, and on the board of directors for Sacred Space Conference (www.sacredspacefoundation.org) and a member of Chesapeake Pagan Community (www.chesapeakepagans.org) One hobby I pursue off and on is genealogy and I have some family sheets posted on www.rootsweb.com. I am originally from Kentucky, so like many Kentuckians, no matter where I live, or for how long, Kentucky is always "home." I enjoy meeting new people, even if it is online chatting, so feel free to drop me a line and say hello.

About my libraryI read most anything I can get my hands on, but a lot of my collection right now consists of paganism and other religion oriented and metaphysical books, murder mysteries (specific authors,) science fiction and fantasy, herbs and gardening, history (especially the Colonial era,) arts and crafts, and Celtic and western European topics. I have a small collection of books about or featuring Corgis (I know, that's not the correct spelling of the plural, but I always forget how to spell it, is it corgwyn?)and a collection of children's books. I've also begun a collection of pop-up books, especially Robert Sabuda. I am also a magazine junkie, and recently have had to make myself NOT buy magazines, because I am not getting to them all and they are stacking up. I would really like to catalog my music and movies too, but I haven't decided whether to just go ahead and do it, or wait until there is a format for them, here or somewhere else.

Friendship

(Dinah Maria Mulock Craik)

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person.
Having neither to weigh thoughts
Nor measure words, but pouring them
All right out - just as they are
Chaff and grain together -
Certain that a faithful hand will
Take and sift them,
Keeping what is worth keeping,
And with a breath of kindness
Blow the rest away.
I bought a cat cue hand scanner. Somewhere in the stuff I read to make my decision I think they mentioned a DVD library database it works with. I don't recall the name, but one of the reasons I bought the thing is the possibility of recording that stuff also. I like the scanner, when I have a book with the bar code it works great. But, a good portion of the older books I'm doing don't have that....it really drives home the point about how much things have changed. (Yippie)

Hey Connie,

I've finally gotten around to using Library Thing. I'm totally hooked. Thanks for letting me know about this. It's totally addictive.

Blessings,

Viv
Thanks Looks4Hawks, I didn't get the book yet, but it's still at the top of my wishlist! Thanks for gettting back to me. You're right about being busy: "Tis the season!" Hope yours is going well. Brightest Blessings! ~Christine.
Hello Looks4Hawks: I considering a purchase of Lon Milo DuQuette's Chicken Cabala...What did you think of it?
I happened to get a 30% coupon from Borders, which is burning a hole in my pocket! I could stand to wait, I suppose...[One of my friends just emptied out his shelves too, so I'm overwhelmed with new reading!]
Thanks! ~Christine.
Yes its me. I've been here since Sept. I love this thing. Its helped me several times not to get duplicates of books or to find more books by the same author.
Hi Looks4Hawks, I was just dropping back in to see how the library is coming along... Just wanted to let you know that I'm also doing free-trade of books over at http://www.bookmooch.com/inventory/coraz...

Feel free to check it out... :D Be Well, Cora
Hi Looks4Hawks, Thanks for stopping by...! I have most of my library online but as soon as I loaded it all in, I was given a bag full of books from a friend of mine clearing her shelfs. So I have more work to do and a membership to pay for now. :) Let me know if you have interest in a book and would like insight before purchase. I buy most of my books "used" on half.com. They have had the best deals so far on what I'm looking for. I also have a few wishlist items that are tagged that I have an eye on. :) Happy reading, don't forget to enjoy the weather outside. I intend to start on some reviews at some point when I have the time. Right now, I'm working on loading a friend's library on here for her as well... Love & Light ~ Cora
Nice cross-over... Feel free to drop by some time. Be well ~ Cora
