About meBook lovers are thought by unbookish people to be gentle and unworldly, and perhaps a few of them are so. But there are others who will lie and scheme and steal to get books as wildly and unconscionably as the dope-taker in pursuit of
his drug. They may not want the books to read immediately, or at all; they want them to possess, to range on their shelves, to have at command. They want books as a Turk is thought to want concubines -- not to be hastily deflowered, but to be kept at their master's call, and enjoyed more often in thought than in reality.

Noticed you liked The Bluest Eye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

C'mon I know you are busy at the desk, gotta keep up with the Joneses ya know.
How many of these did you actually read (or have read to you? 2-3??
Ellen Thomas, a broad-minded prof of biology at wesleyen gave me invaluable support when i was about ready to give up on a combined taxonomy+nesting scheme in the foreword of my book with 1000 sea cucumber haiku: if you ever catch her in the library, please say thanks. Also, is annie dillard hiding out there by any chance -- someone told me she was at wesleyen about a year ago. i think she would like my books but have not corresponded with her since i was in japan helping a publisher with one of her books. And, if you ever come across my newest book, with 1300 dirty senryu, i would like a librarian's opinion as to whether it should be banned! (At least how you think it will do in the library).
