About me Let’s see, odds and ends…I love to travel, have a strange fondness for garden gnomes (though I own only two), enjoy reading inaugural addresses of dead presidents (I’m a total history nerd), and for fun, will act out Shakespeare’s plays with my friends. In other words, I’m a geek.
About my library My library is truly my best outward expression of my personality and interests. Classic fiction, theater, history, special interest topics of the oddest variety, and much much more. I go through phases and tastes when it comes to reading so my favorites are always changing. A few that have remained constant are: Alexandre Dumas (Count of Monte Cristo, Three Musketeers), George Orwell (1984, Animal Farm), Charlotte Bronte (Jane Eyre), Richard Adams (Watership Down), Christopher Moore (Island of the Sequined Love Nun, Lamb), Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity), and of course, Jane Austen (Northanger Abbey, Emma).
Strangely enough, it's because of my love for Jane Austen that I became interested in novels of the gothic genre. I have since had to build new bookshelves to accommodate that obsession. I like to call that corner of the library "Dorothy’s Gothic Nook!" It's where I keep everything I have related to Jane Austen and these "horrid" stories.
