About meI am a geek, a nerd, and a child at heart who still loves all the things loved in childhood. I like sci-fi/fantasy books & TV, cartoons, and games of all types, including board games, video games, card games, and role-playing games. I collect My Little Ponies, obscure stuffed animals, and moose-related furnishings. I am a pack-rat: I just like STUFF and I like cataloging it all. For the most part, my library speaks for me better than I can myself. When I am not spending too much time on the internet or otherwise engaging in geekery, I dance (ballet, tap, jazz, acro, that kind of thing.)

I have very specific tastes. My educational reading is mostly hard science and math with a little linguistics thrown in. For recreational reading I tend toward fantasy, mythology, shoujo manga, and young adult novels. My partner's books are mixed in with mine except for a small subsection of his comics which are in their own collection (indeed 400/15,000 is a very small subsection.) There are certain plot/character sensibilities that will endear a book to me no matter how flawed it may be otherwise, like my peculiar affinity for quest/travel/survival narratives. Tagging is important to me, but I'm always changing my mind so my tags are a work in progress and less evocative than I intend them to be.

About my libraryMy library is a catalog of books owned (excepting "Read But Unowned" (since 2007) & "Wishlist") but still not everything owned. Non-book media like games & movies are archived at my alternate TheDarkAge account. It is mathematically impossible for me to be able to read all the books on my TBR in a lifetime, but darned if I'm not going to try!

Thank you! I was very lucky in being asked to take care of my friend's condo when she moved to Japan 8 years ago. Another avid reader, her place came complete with most of the bookcases pictured as well as the lovely brick fireplace.

I see you're also in Brooklyn, have you been to Singularity & Co. in Dumbo? Vintage pulp sci-fi is not my interest, but it's an intriguing little shop & I like bring my friends who do read a lot of sci-fi to it when they are visiting.
Have placed my review of MENIAL here on LT.
Go get the book and read.
I had fun from start to finish. But don't expect great flashy characters that change the world or fight huge spacebattles this one is about the small-persons.
You know the ones that normally only get the dump-actor-rolls.

Pleased to report that Shadow of the Torturer is very good! Rich prose, cool world, gloomy atmospherics that give way to... well let's not spoil anything but i liked it a lot and will definitely be picking up the next volume.
Note to self: include this into library with manual entry script:

Thanks for the compliment on my library. I have a lot of interesting books to read looking at other people libraries here. Like I needed a longer to read list! But they all sound so good...

Hi 'Befuddled sheep'. I was wondering how you get the pics of the books you're reading in the About my library on your profile. I tried copy & paste, but it didn't work. Thanks! And nice shelves there in the pics!
Thanks, but yours are even more awesome!! All those ponies and all that manga...
(And the fact they are all shelved is also very impressive, lol)
