Try Jim Butcher's series "the Codex Alera". Start with book one "Furies of Calderon" which sets the scene. Each of the following books gets better and better. Regards, skak
Hi to you TO!!

Ever since i read the thief in 7th grade, i have been waiting for the next book. I would have read the thief again, except that my mom told me that there were 2 others that i needed to read. so, i have been waiting for A Conspiracy of Kings for the last 3 years. i am SOOOO excited for it to come out.

by way of recommendations, i would suggest Hazardous Duty, then Above and Beyond, followed by Code Of Honor, all by Betsy Brannon Green. the whole series is amazing, and the nice thing is that it is over after the third one. but they are AWESOME.
Are you waiting for the fourth book in The thief to come out?
I would suggest you try out your local library for books by Neal Asher, Isaac Asimov, Ian M Banks, Peter F Hamilton, Frank Herbert, George R R Martin & Dan Simmons in the Science Fiction / Fantasy section. Also Barry Eisler, Lee Childs, Simon Gandolfi, Daniel Silva, Murray Smith & Martin Cruz Smith in the Mystery / Thriller section. This is for starters, you might enjoy one or more of them.

Reading is my favorite (but not only) form of recreation. I toss a book in my tote whenever I leave the house; I visit the library every two weeks and check out at least five books; and I keep a few books under the car seats.

I recently culled my fiction bookshelves, which were double stacked and completely packed, and now have over 400 books to get rid of. Alas, some of the bookshelves are still double stacked. On the other hand, it's not a calamity: all those good reads are available whenever I want them. I especially like to read mysteries, fantasy, and science fiction.
