About meI am the author of over thirty picture and mid-grade novels for children, including the perennial favorites, PIGGIE PIE!, SWEET TOOTH, and BEDHEAD.
I've also recently written and illustrated the mid-grade novel, GEEK CHIC 'The Zoey Zone'. I have a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Pa., and am working on writing and illustrating a book that will be released in 2011. My books have been honored with over eighty awards and honors, including sixty-eight state award nominations, twenty state awards, ALA Notable, ALA Booklist Editor's Choice, NCTE Notable, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, Bank Street Education Irma S. and James H. Black Award, NEWSWEEK magazine's 'Best Book of the Year', NY Public Library '100 Best Books for Reading and Sharing', Chicago Public Library 'Best of the Best', and the National Education Association 'Top 100 Book List'.

About my libraryI probably have about 500 picture books and children's novels in my own library. A few of my many favorites: OLIVIA, THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD, the CLARICE BEAN series, books by Paula Danziger and Judy Blume.
