About my library These are books I own. Many of the older ones were inherited from my grandparents or other relatives. I especially love books by women from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

You sure? It's only a paperback...
I've just realized I still have my (1997) penguin copy of Hungry Hearts by Anzia Yezierska. Would you like it?

I'm happy to have made you feel guilty, Christine!!!! XXX Lois:-)
So glad you discovered Nina Berberova. I hope you will read her autobiography 'the italics are mine'. She was an incredibly brave and creative woman.
thanks for stopping by my 50 book challenge list! I just noticed today that Paper Cuts had a discussion of Housekeeping. Since my boss keeps lurking around my computer (wonder why?) I haven't had time to read it. Do they like it as much as I did?
Thank you so much for your nice comment about my blog :) I can't wait to read my TBR pile either ! I have so many books right now crossing the Channel or the Atlantic Ocean it's enough to keep me interested till this summer :)
Hi Marise

for help on posting book covers I found this information to be quite helpful....

The book covers are those already existing in LT, most of which are Amazon covers.

I found a biography & info on Cooper Edens here: http://biography.jrank.org/pages/1987/Ed.... I only have two of his books, but hope to have them all. He is enchanting.

You are NOT being late about all of this, so cut that out!:-) XXX Lois
Hi! Nice to know I'm not the only one who loves "The Razor's Edge"! Are you into anything else Maugham as well? I recently found his collected works - 27 volumes, hardback - in a Charing Cross bookshop and lugged them all the way home. But it was worth it!
Where did my message go? Again, I have some Viragos to send you but I think I will wait until after the holidays when the post office is sane again. XXXLois
I finished Seasoned Timber and posted a review on my blog, if you're interested.
No comments posted? How strange. Have you been cleaning house? I was wondering if you had ever read Dorothy Canfield Fisher's Seasoned Timber. I'm reading it now and loving it. I've read The Home-Maker, which I also loved, and I've just ordered a copy of The Brimming Cup, which, I noticed, you've mentioned as one of your favorite novels by one of your favorite novelists. I'm going to have to add Dorothy Canfield Fisher to my list of favorite authors, too!
