You may not know that people make use of the public data on Librarything to have books recommended to them from people who have similar libraries. To help people in this, there are a lot of us who try to make sure that different versions of the same book are linked together. Of course, when one does things like use shorthand in the titles, it makes it difficult for people to combine versions, to say nothing of giving puzzling results afterwards to those who have been recommended a book "Strong imaginatn" (especially if English is not their first language), and so we ask people nicely and privately if they would be so kind as to make the necessary corrections. We certainly don't want members' friends to see a public and rude comment on the page by some stranger that would give everyone the false impression that said member is a sloppy typist. Of course, we have no power to enforce such changes, and not everyone will see the need for them, but such people usually either ignore the message altogether, or send a private message in reply to the original private message saying they will not do it (or sometimes even explaining why not). Seldom, if ever, do they feel the need to reply to a private message with a public comment. So obviously my original comment must have greatly disturbed you in some way, and I am very sorry if it caused you any distress. I shan't bother you again.
