Hello all,

I thought I'd update you all on our author appearances across Scotland...

On Tuesday 22nd of May, 7.30-9.30pm, William Sutton will be appearing at the Doune and Dunblane Fling in Dunblane Library. Appearing with him are fellow scribblers Cairine Caskie and Alex Nye.

William Sutton's exuberant debut novel, The Worms of Euston Square, sees young police recruit, Campbell Lawless, on the trail of disillusioned political activist, Berwick Skelton. Aided by an urchin gang, The Worms, and Ruth Villiers, a code-cracking librarian, will Lawless uncover the revolutionary plot before it's too late? The Worms of Euston Sqaure is set in Victorian London and is an atmospheric, rollicking and lively read. For more details:

On Wednesday 23rd of May, 7.30pm, at the Dumbarton Golf Course, storyteller extraordinaire, Jess Smith, will be closing this year's West Dunbartonshire Literary Festival, Booked!

Jess Smith has received much praise for her autobiographical trilogy, Jessie's Journey, Tales from the Tent and Tears for a Tinker, which detailed her life growing up travelling round Scotland in a blue bus with her travelling family. In 2006, she released her much anticipated romantic novel Bruar's Rest. Set against the backdrop of the First World War, Bruar's Rest is a passionate tale of love and loyalty between two gypsy families. For more details:

Hello everyone,

Last week was the official launch of Blood in the Water: An Alice Rice Mystery by debut novelist, Gillian Galbraith. Many well-wishers were in attendance and it was lovely to see so much support for the book. In fact, so supportive were the guests, that we sold out of all the books! That's a first in the all the launches I've attended since I started here 2 years ago...

Blood in the Water is a thrilling police-procedural where we are introduced to Edinburgh's latest fictional detective, Alice Rice. Smart and capable, but battling disillusionment and loneliness, she is on the trail of an implacable killer responsible for a series of grisly murders amongst Edinburgh's professional elite in the well-to-do New Town.

If you have any questions on Gillian and her book, please get in touch; I'll be happy to answer!
